My Profile
I have been involved in photography for more than 50 years. I started my trek the old fashioned way with glass half plate and whole plate land cameras, I then graduated to the more sophisticated film cameras using 2.5” x 3.5”, 2.25” x 2.25” and 35mm films. Eventually being involved in the computer industry I moved into the realms of digital photography. Since moving into digital photography with my knowledge and experience in computer technology I find the processing of pictures 1000 times cleaner and quicker (and now just as good as the old fashioned film version).

My Photographs

I started out by taking the usual sort of pictures a young lad takes, street scenes, candid pictures of people I met and of course the holiday snap shots. I eventually became more interested in portraits so much so that for a few years I did part time portrait photography semi professionally. This of course lead me into doing Wedding photography and other celebratory occasions which I continued to do for some years. Eventually I realised that I was not getting as much satisfaction from my photography as I use to so I took the decision to drop all of my semi pro work and return to pure amateur photography where I could concentrate on taking pictures that interested me and I had a passion for.

My Gallery

You will notice from my gallery images I still take portraits, but my main love is cars, especially high performance 5000 horse power monsters, I like things that are hard to capture, where you really have to think before pressing the shutter (this goes back to the days of film because film was quite expensive). I do take some landscape and record type photos but I must admit that landscape photography isn’t my first love I prefer the more creative type of images if it has to be something that doesn’t move.
